The Dawgs are barking!!
Heres a collection of clips Jim has sent me of the some of the various dawgs he currently builds.
There's always a couple of Dawgs here for sale and if I don't have what you are after, Jim can generally get one to me pretty quickly.

D-lux [5E3 1955-1960]
Based on the venerable 5E3 circuit used in the twilight [Narrow Panel] period of the Tweed Amps.
An all time favourite with many players all over the world. There are 2 versions with either a 12 watt or 25 watt output trannie

12 watt + mellow tele 00012 watt Pushing it right out 00012 watt same tune lower volume 000

25 watt Clean 000
25 watt Stormy and laid back

Champster [5F1 1955-1964]
Just one control that goes from bright and clean to total filth. This snotty little amp has plenty of attitude and loves to be played dimed. Its a fun little grab and go amp that is never comfortable in polite company. 8 or 12 watt OT versions acailable

12 watt Laid back 00012watt trad blues 000house blues

The Pug
An 18 watt based on the original 60's combo designed by the legendary Jim Marshall. The only Brittish style Dawg. The pug has that Brittish tone that so much 70's classic rock has at its core

Classic tones

The Mutt
The idea that spawned the Mutt came from a question by a Dawg owner. The idea was to marry a 5e3 preamp with the 5F1 single ended output stage. In other words a kind of mini d-lux. After the usual design and test work was done the Mutt was let off its lead.
The Mutt turned out to be pretty savage.

The Choco Dawg [6G3 1961-1963]
first came the great era of the Tweeds and then came the Blackface era, arguably the most revered of all Leo Fender's designs. In between these two great periods was the little known period of the Browns. These days its very rare to find an original as not a lot were made. They stand very clearly between the tweed and blackface exhibiting attributes of both types.

Here are some notes from Mark who recorded these clips of the Chocodawg

ChocoClean: Tele middle position…low-gain input on the bright channel, tone on 9, Vol on 3…trem comes on at the end. What a pretty clean….

ChocoDimed: Hamer Monaco Elite (LP type) starting on bridge pup & then Amazing Grace on neck…Hi Input on the Bright channel with Vol & Tone on 12. Incredible sustain on this one…edge of feedback….

ChocoFuzz: Tele Bridge pup through a ToneBender clone with a moderate amount of fuzz.
Hi Input…Bright Channel…Tone on 9, Vol on 9

Classic fuzz songs…

Excuse the sloppy playing…I was just trying to give a good sonic pic of the ChocoDawg…I was in KC all day so I was whipped & decided to just do it.

Oh yeah, all clips through a Lopoline cab loaded with a broken in Emi Red Fang (Celestion Blue clone), close-mic’d with an Audix 15 mic into a Fostex 16 track digital mini-studio..

A bit of reverb was added at the board for some ambience.

I made the clips in my church’s sanctuary…it was LOUD! That Red Fang just screams……It was FUN!

I love having amps that will sustain & grind right on the edge of feedback if I want that…just back off the volume to clean it up….

I play with another praise/rock band Thursday night called Cracking Wise…I gigged with them back in October…they love my Dawgs! It’s so funny I hear “Where is your pedalboard?” I say Oh I forgot & pull out my psychedelic painted trem switch or my Teese wah…but usually I just say “All I need is a cable”…no one has ever complained about my tone since I started playing Dawgs!"
