Pickups

Brierley hand wound pickups
I use micks pickups in all of my custom guitars - you can hear the difference in tone
There is a special kind of magic in his pickups - I am not certain exactly what it is but some say he has
a special supply of mpjo dust that gets sprinkled on the magnets. Whatever it is, adds an extra dimension to the tone.
Just talk to anyone who uses them.

There are various winds, types of magnets etc avaialable to produce the tone you are after from vintage to way out on the wild side.
Strat sets $250
Tele sets $180
Bucker sets $250
You can can get vintage repro's and relic sets for a small upcharge.

Dimarzio
I have the full range of dimarzios avalable. Consistently great sounding pickups for any application from pure vintage to
alien invasion from outer space. Dimarzio's peerless reputation goes back many years. the first time I used dimarzios was on an old bolero tele back in the early 80's. They really made it into something special and I used that guitar for over 20 years. I still have those pickups.

Seymour Duncan
The full range is available. One of the pioneers of after market pickup makers, Duncans are recognised as being among the best
mass produced pickups available.

WSC pickups
low price - great value - great tone
These pickups actually sound great. There are quite a few different types available to fit all popular guitars.
Priced from $25 each they are excellent value if you have over run your build budget or you need a low cost replacement for for a deadun.
If you want to hotrod your guitar there are a few hotties available in the wsc range that bite very hard.

Stainless steel heavy duty neck plates
$15.00 Plus postage.
Improve sustain and add tone to your sound. This solid 3mm stainless neckplate will allow more compression to be exerted on that crucial neck to body join. Many players and so called experts tell us that to get the best sustain you need a set neck. Research in my workshop has shown that this is hogwash. Many others will back me up on this hypotheseis. What I have found is this: Increasing the mass of the neck plate, using a stiffer and heavier material, allows extra compression to be exerted at the critcal neck to body joint. The extra compression, together with well mated surfaces allows a much more efficient transfer of resonant vibrations along the string, through the neck and body, creating a more resonant environment. This will improve tone and aid sustain. Fits "F" vintage style screw pattern

The reason more pressure can be exerted is because this neckplate will not deform like the cheap, soft neckplates supplied by fender and other major guitar factories. Just because it is a custom shop guitar doesn't mean the neckplate is made of high quality steel plate. They are all stamped out in the millions at a factory in the big C. This is an Aussie product made of quality australian brushed stainless steel.

It is recomended that before installing the HD SS neckplate, you remove the gunky bits of paper stuck to the heel of your neck and inside the neck pocket of your Fender style guitar. Ensure both neck pocket and neck heel are clean, smooth and mate well. This will allow maximum surface contact of the heel to the pocket. Once you have tensioned down the neck screws you will have a very tight union allowing maximum resonant transfer.

Surface of the plate is a brushed finish with slightly rounded top edges.

A template for countersinking the plate is available for $25.00 on request. It is big enough to take the base of an average laminate trimmer or 6mm router. [Please note no support is given on the use of this template]
